Yes. That would be a better way than just using a web camera. It would allow the online audience to see the entire room and it will zoom in on whomever is speaking. The microphone is surprisingly good at not just picking up the main speaker, but also audience participation.
An alternative offered through Technology Checkout is our Zoom Kit. It would take someone to operate it, while the Owl does things by itself, but the image it offers is more traditional and less "busy" than that of the Owl. Essentially, it is a collection of cords that allows you to connect a video camera and possibly a microphone on a tripod, all also available at Technology Checkout, to your computer like it's a web camera with the ability to pan, tilt, and zoom. It would provide a much more television like experience.
