Yes. At the Library's Welcome Desk, we have microphones that should make you sound better. It’s called a Yeti microphone and when you ask for it to check out, you can ask for Mic6 or Mic7. One is silver and one is black, but otherwise they are the same.

When you plug it in with the USB, just set Zoom to use Yeti for the microphone. It may try to take over as your speakers too, but if you want to use it for that, you’ll need to plug headphones into it. I usually just use my computer speakers or headphones plugged into my computer. Both of these settings should be found in the lower left corner where you mute your microphone by selecting the little arrow next to the microphone icon.

We also have webcams available. It’s hard to say if they will be better than your laptop’s built-in camera or not, but you’re welcome to try.

The library's Welcome Desk is accessible through the northeast entrance and is open Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
