I'd suggest starting with the database Business Source Premier, and searching advertis* exposure AND effect or impact. You can limit your results to full-text and peer-reviewed if you need only scholarly articles, by using the filters on the left. I found articles on many types of product advertising including food, alcohol, sports, etc. You can narrow your search to the aspect that interests you most by adding another keyword to your search, such as AND food or AND consumer behavior. Other databases you could try are the business database ABI/Inform or the general database Academic Search Premier.
If you're interested in the psychological or sociological effects of advertising, try searching Psychological and Behavioral Sciences Collection or PsycInfo and changing your search a bit to advertising exposure AND effect or impact AND people or society or culture. You can add additional databases to your search by clicking "Choose Databases" at the top of the screen, then checking the ones you want to add, such as Psych & Behav. Sciences, then click ok and do your search again. See file for screenshots.
