"No. Log in to your NYTimes.com account and then visit www.nytimes.com/passes. If you are eligible, you will be asked to confirm your e-mail address."  If that doesn’t work, call customer support at 800-591-9233, cancel the account (may take 24 hours), then use the FHSU NYTimes EduPass link, and choose the “Already have an account” option, log-in and follow the prompts.
